- Check the Text contrast table, then copy the colours under Copy it as, press Download PNG, or press Save to keep the palette.
Good to know
- Every palette has five colours from darkest to lightest. A simple split is darkest for text, the middle colour for buttons and tags, and the lightest for backgrounds.
- Typed vibes understand everyday words: diwali and christmas give festive, holi gives playful, wedding gives romantic, and skincare gives a romantic palette too. Any other word still makes a palette built around a hue taken from it.
- A palette from a photo, like your product shot or a mood board, pulls out its five main colours. Shuffle will not change these, but you can change any swatch by hand with the pencil.
- Copy the colours as HEX, RGB, CSS variables or Tailwind, so your designer or developer gets exactly the same shades.
- Saved palettes live only in this browser, up to 12 at a time. Download the PNG if you want to share one with a client or your team.
Questions
How do I choose a colour palette for my brand?
Start from one colour you already love or that suits your product, choose a scheme like Analogous or Monochrome, and shuffle until it feels right. Lock what works, then check text contrast so captions and buttons stay readable.
How do I get a colour palette from an image?
Choose An image, then drop a photo or tap choose one. The tool finds the five main colours in the picture and sorts them dark to light, ready to copy as HEX or RGB codes.
What is a good colour contrast ratio for text?
A ratio of 4.5:1 or more is the common guideline for normal body text, and 3:1 is enough for large headings. The Text contrast table marks each pair as good, great (7:1 and up) or too faint.
What is the difference between analogous, complementary and triadic colours?
Analogous colours sit next to each other on the colour wheel and feel calm. Complementary colours are opposites and give strong contrast. Triadic uses three evenly spaced hues for a lively, balanced look.
What colours work for a Diwali or festive post?
Type diwali or pick the festive vibe for warm reds, golds and pinks with a soft light shade for backgrounds. Shuffle a few times and lock the gold or red that matches your brand.
Is the palette generator free, and is my photo uploaded?
It is free with no sign-up. Photos are read inside your browser and are not uploaded anywhere, and your current and saved palettes are stored only in this browser.
