How to use the QR Code Generator

  1. Under What should it open?, choose Link, Text, WhatsApp, Instagram DM, Email or Wi-Fi and fill in the details.
  2. Under Make it pretty, pick colours for the Dots and Background, a dot and corner shape, and add a logo with Choose image if you like.
  3. Check the text under the preview, which shows exactly what the code contains, and fix any warning that appears.
  4. Press PNG or SVG to download, or Copy image, then test-scan it with your phone camera.

Good to know

  • Keep the dots darker than the background with strong contrast. The tool warns you if the colours are too close or if the dots are lighter than the background.
  • Use SVG for print, like menus, packaging or standees, as it stays sharp at any size. The PNG is 1200 by 1200 pixels, which suits screens and stories.
  • Leave White border around it ticked unless you are placing the code on a plain light area yourself, as scanners need that quiet space.
  • A WhatsApp code opens a chat with your number, with your message typed in for the customer. Enter the number with the country code, like +91.
  • Shorter links make simpler codes that scan more easily, especially when printed small or when you add a logo.

Questions

How do I make a QR code for my WhatsApp number?

Choose WhatsApp, enter your number with the country code, and add an optional message such as "Hi, I want to order". Scanning it opens a WhatsApp chat with you, with that message ready to send.

Can I add my logo to a QR code?

Yes. Use Choose image under Logo in the middle. The tool clears a small space in the centre and switches to the highest level of error correction, so the code still scans. Always test it before printing.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The link or text is stored inside the code itself, not behind a redirect, so it keeps working as long as the link it points to works. It also means the destination cannot be changed later and scans are not tracked.

How do I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password, and pick the security type, which is WPA for most home and café routers. Guests scan it with their phone camera to join without typing the password.

Can I make a QR code that opens my Instagram DMs?

Choose Instagram DM and type your username. The code opens a direct message chat with your account, which is handy on product tags, flyers and stall banners.

Is this QR code generator free, and is my data uploaded?

It is free with no sign-up and no watermark. The code and any logo are made in your browser and nothing is uploaded; only your colour and shape choices are remembered in this browser.
