How to use the Carousel Text Splitter
- Paste your caption, blog post or script into Your text.
- Under Make, choose Carousel slides, or Thread posts for X, Threads, Bluesky or a LinkedIn post.
- For slides, choose Words per slide (10 to 90) or Number of slides (2 to 20), and keep First line is a title slide ticked for a cover.
- Add an optional Last slide and Your handle, pick a colour set, then press Copy all, Download all slides, or PNG under a single slide.
Good to know
- Slides only ever break between sentences, and each line of a list (starting with -, • or 1.) stays whole. A single sentence longer than your limit gets its own slide and is flagged.
- In Thread posts, a sentence longer than the character limit is the only thing cut between words, and it is marked so you can rewrite it shorter.
- Downloaded slides are 1080 × 1350 px PNGs. LinkedIn carousels are usually posted as a PDF document, so combine the images into one PDF first.
- Download all slides saves one file per slide, and your browser may ask once to allow several downloads.
- Your options, last slide and handle are remembered in this browser. The text you paste is not saved, so keep a copy.
Questions
How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?
Instagram allows up to 20 slides in one carousel. If your text makes more, raise the words per slide or switch to Number of slides and pick 20 or fewer.
What size should Instagram carousel slides be?
Use 1080 × 1350 px, the 4:5 portrait size that fills the most of the feed. That is the size this tool downloads. See other sizes in the Size Visualizer.
How many words should go on a carousel slide?
Fewer is easier to read on a phone. Around 20 to 40 words a slide works for most tips and explainers, which is why the tool starts at 35.
How do I turn a long post into an X thread?
Choose Thread posts and pick X (280 characters). The tool fills each post with whole sentences, leaves room for numbering like 1/6, and shows a character count under each post.
What are the character limits on Threads, Bluesky and LinkedIn?
The tool uses 500 characters for a Threads post, 300 for Bluesky, 280 for X and 3,000 for a LinkedIn post.
