How to use the YouTube Banner Resizer
- Press Choose images, drop them in or paste with Ctrl+V; you can resize up to 50 photos at once.
- Under Exact size, pick a Platform size such as Instagram post (portrait), or choose Custom size and type the Width and Height.
- Choose Crop to fill and drag the preview (or use Zoom) to choose what stays in, or Fit whole photo on a blurred, white, black or coloured background.
- Pick Save as and Quality, then press Download, or Download all as ZIP when you have several photos.
Good to know
- Only the centre 1546 × 423 pixels shows on phones, TVs and computers alike. Put your channel name, face and upload schedule inside it.
- TVs show the whole 2560 × 1440, so extend the background to the edges instead of leaving them blank.
- YouTube accepts banners up to 6 MB; if yours is bigger, shrink it in the Image Compressor.
- Each photo keeps its own crop position, so tap through the thumbnails and adjust any where a face or product is cut off before downloading them all.
- Fit whole photo with Blurred photo is a neat way to post a landscape picture as a tall Instagram post or story without cropping anything out.
- If the preview says the photo will be stretched and may look soft, start from a larger original. Making a small photo bigger cannot add detail.
- By percent and Longest side keep each photo's shape, which is handy for shrinking a whole folder for a website or email.
- Resizing does not aim for a file size. If a form or site has a KB limit, run the result through the Image Compressor.
Questions
What size is a YouTube banner?
2560 × 1440 pixels, at up to 6 MB. The safe area that shows on every device is the middle 1546 × 423 pixels.
Why does my YouTube banner get cut off?
Phones and computers only show a strip across the middle. Keep text and faces inside the centre 1546 × 423 pixels and only background outside it.
What size should an Instagram post be?
1080 × 1350 px (4:5 portrait) takes up the most space in the feed, and 1080 × 1080 works for square posts. Use the Instagram post resizer to get 1080 × 1350 in one step.
How do I resize a photo for an Instagram story without cropping it?
Open the Instagram story resizer for 1080 × 1920, choose Fit whole photo and keep Blurred photo as the background. Keep text out of the top and bottom 250 px, which Instagram's own name bar and reply box can cover.
What is the right YouTube thumbnail size?
1280 × 720 px, a 16:9 shape. The YouTube thumbnail resizer sets it for you; avoid putting key text in the bottom-right corner, where the video length appears.
What size is a LinkedIn banner or Facebook cover?
A personal LinkedIn banner is 1584 × 396 px and a Facebook cover is 851 × 315 px. Use the LinkedIn banner or Facebook cover presets, and keep faces and text near the middle, as Facebook crops the sides of covers on phones.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 photos, choose one size for all of them, and press Download all as ZIP. Each file is named with its new size, like photo-1080x1350.jpg.
Is this image resizer free and private?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up or watermark, and everything happens in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded to a server.
