How to use the YouTube Thumbnail Resizer

Good to know
- Keep important text and faces away from the bottom-right corner: the video length is shown there.
- Thumbnails are seen small on phones. Big faces and three or four words read far better than detailed scenes.
- If your thumbnail ends up too large to upload, run it through the Image Compressor after resizing.
- Each photo keeps its own crop position, so tap through the thumbnails and adjust any where a face or product is cut off before downloading them all.
- Fit whole photo with Blurred photo is a neat way to post a landscape picture as a tall Instagram post or story without cropping anything out.
- If the preview says the photo will be stretched and may look soft, start from a larger original. Making a small photo bigger cannot add detail.
- By percent and Longest side keep each photo's shape, which is handy for shrinking a whole folder for a website or email.
- Resizing does not aim for a file size. If a form or site has a KB limit, run the result through the Image Compressor.
