Instagram Profile Mockup
Mock up a whole Instagram profile for a client pitch, a new brand or a portfolio: name, bio, counts, highlights and a grid of your posts, saved as one image.
Your new posts
Drag the posts in the phone to reorder (on a touchscreen, press and hold first). Tap the profile photo or a highlight in the phone to change it. Images stay on your device and are gone when you close the page.
Profile
Scroll inside the phone, just like the app.
How to use the Instagram Profile Mockup
- Press Choose images, or drop them in, in the order you will post them; the last one you add lands top-left, as the newest post.
- Drag posts inside the phone to reorder them (on a touchscreen, press and hold first), and set each one to Post, Carousel, Reel or Pinned.
- Fill in the Profile details and highlights, and tap the profile photo or a highlight circle in the phone to add a picture.
- Choose the Grid shape, iPhone or Android, Light or Dark, and whether to view as a visitor or the owner.
- Press Download PNG to save the whole profile as one tall image for client approvals.
Good to know
- For a pitch, mock up the brand’s profile as it could look after your work: the new bio, the highlight covers and the first nine posts.
- Set View as to The owner (Edit profile) for a profile you run, or A visitor (Follow) to show it the way customers will see it.
- The PNG is 1080 px wide, sharp enough for a slide deck, a case study or a WhatsApp message to the client.
- It is a mockup for planning and pitching. Don’t use it to pass off a made-up account as a real one.
- Instagram’s grid now crops posts to 3:4, so a 1080 × 1350 post loses a little on each side. Check exact sizes in the Size Visualizer.
- Show older posts underneath adds soft placeholder tiles, not your real posts, so you can judge how a new row sits. Mark the new ones outlines what is new.
- Choosing Pinned moves that post to the front of the grid, the way pinned posts sit first on a real profile.
- You can add up to 30 images at a time and up to 8 highlights. Images are shrunk to 1080 px so the page stays quick.
- Your profile text and settings are remembered in this browser, but the photos are not. Download the PNG before you close the page.
Questions
How do I make an Instagram profile mockup?
Type the username, name, bio and counts under Profile, tap the profile photo and highlight circles in the phone to add pictures, then add posts for the grid. Press Download PNG to save the whole profile as one image.
Can I mock up a client’s or a new brand’s Instagram?
Yes. Nothing connects to Instagram, so you can type in any name, bio and numbers. That makes it handy for pitches, rebrands and accounts that don’t exist yet.
Does the mockup look like the real Instagram app?
It follows the current profile layout: 3:4 grid, highlights, Reels, Carousel and Pinned icons, iPhone or Android, light or dark. It is a close mockup, not a screenshot, so small details can differ from the latest app.
How can I preview my Instagram grid before posting?
Add your next posts here in posting order and they appear on top of a mock profile, just as they would after you post. Drag them around until the rows look balanced, then download the preview.
Does Instagram show a 3:4 grid now?
Yes. Instagram’s profile grid shows posts as 3:4 portrait tiles rather than squares. The tool uses 3:4 by default, and you can switch to Square (classic) to compare.
Do I need to log in to Instagram to use this?
No. The tool doesn’t connect to Instagram at all. You type in the username, bio, follower counts and highlights yourself, which also makes it handy for mocking up a client’s or a new brand’s profile.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. It is free and everything happens in your browser. Your images never leave your device and are gone when you close the page.
Can I plan my Instagram grid on my phone?
Yes. It works in your phone’s browser: tap Choose images to pick photos from your gallery, press and hold a post to drag it into place, then press Download PNG to save the preview as one picture.
Why does Instagram crop my photos on the grid?
The profile grid shows 3:4 tiles. Square posts and 4:5 posts (1080 × 1350) are trimmed at the sides to fit; only 3:4 posts (1080 × 1440) show in full. Add your posts here to see exactly what the grid keeps before you post.
How do I share a feed plan with a client?
Press Download PNG. You get the full profile, from the header and bio down to the grid, as one image 1080 px wide that you can send on WhatsApp or email.
Can I plan reels and carousels too?
Yes. Set a post to Reel or Carousel and it gets the matching corner icon in the grid. The grid shows the cover image you add, not the video or the other slides.
